EDA Wien is committed to safeguarding the privacy of our website visitors; this policy sets out how we will treat your personal information.
Cookies
A cookie is a small packet of data sent from a website and stored in a user’s web browser (such as Safari or Firefox) while the user is browsing that website. When the user revisits that same website, the browser sends a copy of the cookie back to the server to notify the website of the user’s previous activity. Cookies help the user’s browsing experience by allowing web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences, for example logging shopping cart information for online stores, log in credentials, and improving overall speed of the site.
A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us, for instance through our online contact form.
Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but all modern browsers allow you to change your cookie settings. You can usually find these settings in the ‘options’ or ‘preferences’ menu of your browser. However, should you choose to turn off cookies you may find that your browsing experience is slower and you may lose out on certain aspects of the website.
Most websites will use some form of cookies but those cookies that require prior consent by EU Cookies Law (for instance profiling cookies which store statistical records allowing websites to provide specific offers based on a customer’s usage of a website) will have a pop-up banner that appears when you visit that website.
